Job summary

The City of San Diego is seeking an Assistant Procurement Contracting Officer to manage procurement and contracting for a range of goods and services for operating departments. You will assist with contracts, prepare requisitions, solicit quotations, bids, and conduct cost analyses while ensuring compliance with city standards.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, with knowledge of e-procurement systems and best practices

Qualifications

• One year of full-time professional experience in purchasing and/or contracting.
• Bachelor's degree or 120 semester/180 quarter units required or substituted as noted.
• Experience with evaluating bids, licensure, debarment, insurance and bonding documents.
• Valid California Class C Driver License may be required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Procurement and contracting of goods and services for operating departments.
• Assist with contracts; prepare requisitions and solicitations.
• Perform cost analysis and negotiate with vendors on behalf of City departments.
