Job summary

Fairfax County Government, through the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development, seeks a seasoned procurement/finance professional to lead a financial team. You will manage procurement, contract negotiations, and grant compliance, coordinating with multiple funding sources and regulatory bodies to optimize the use of public funds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, public policy or related field plus four years of professional-level experience in finance, budgeting, or contract management.
• Master’s degree in a related field or CPA may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, train, and direct daily activities of one of five financial teams handling procurement, financial management, and grants for HCD and FCRHA.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with VPPA, OMB regulations, VHDA, HUD, and other regulations.
• Oversee grant procurement, contract compliance, and reporting to federal/state funding entities; coordinate with SAM vendor verification.
• Support budget processes and provide projections and analyses for leadership decisions.
