Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field plus four years’ payroll processing and bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in accounting, budgetary requirements, IRS regulations, and retirement system compliance.
• Familiarity with payroll systems, accounting databases, and Excel spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Supervises payroll staff and ensures accurate payroll processing.
• Collaborates with HR, auditors, and external agencies on payroll reporting and compliance.
• Leads testing of payroll scenarios within the ERP system and maintains controls.
• Prepares IRS Form 941 and reconciles payroll taxes to ledgers.
• Supports accounts payable and citywide financial systems improvements.
