Job summary

Spokane County's Auditor's Financial Services Division seeks a Regular position focused on professional payment production and related accounting duties. The role enforces internal controls and ensures compliance with applicable laws and policies, supporting timely and accurate payments across departments.

The incumbent will administer PeopleSoft HRMS and accounts payable systems, prepare payment reports, reconcile disbursements, and assist with special projects while upholding county standards

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field.
• Two years of experience in payment preparation and processing.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• CPP and CAPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the preparation and distribution of payments and related charges to accounts for Spokane County's departments, divisions and agencies.
• Audits and approves departmental and agency payroll worksheets and/or accounts payable vouchers to ensure compliance with internal controls and laws.
• Administers PeopleSoft HRMS to update payroll, benefits, contracts, stipends, deductions, enrollments and changes.
• Administers PeopleSoft accounts payable financial purchase enrollment/changes and e-pay vouchers and travel disbursements.
• Trains departmental staff and answers technical questions; assists with problem resolution.
• Prepares and balances payment system reports to disbursements and reconciles payment funds.
