Job summary

Las Animas County Dept. of Human Services seeks a Deputy Director of Operations to lead administrative, fiscal, and operational functions, reporting to the Executive Director and serving on the executive leadership team.

You will oversee budgeting, accounting, procurement, payroll, and compliance, guiding financial strategy and ensuring sound controls across public‑funded programs and audits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher; five years of finance/public administration experience.
• Experience with budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting; supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees Department finance and accounting functions including budget development and monitoring, payroll coordination, and fiscal closeout.
• Provides executive-level fiscal analysis and recommendations to the Executive Director.
• Oversees preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports for state, federal, and county entities.
• Leads CFMS reporting and Tyler financial systems activities; ensures internal controls and compliance.
