Job summary

Qualifications

• BA in Business or related field.
• 1–3 years outside sales, business development or account management in IT.
• Experience selling to SLED clients is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IT solutions and public sector procurement cycles.

Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and close IT procurement opportunities within the SLED sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with IT decision-makers, procurement officials, and stakeholders in state/local government and education.
• Develop account plans and growth strategies for assigned territories.
• Represent GovSmart’s portfolio of OEM partners including hardware, software, cloud, and security solutions.
• Manage the end-to-end sales process from lead generation through procurement and handoff.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Stay current on public sector procurement vehicles, trends, and compliance requirements.
• Training for 1–2 weeks in the Charlottesville, VA office.
