Job summary

The City and County of Denver's Auditor's Office seeks an experienced auditor to perform performance audits of city departments and programs, applying GAGAS standards and robust data analytics. You will prepare reports, present findings to the public, and contribute to improving efficiency and accountability across city services.

A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and at least one year of professional auditing experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
One year of professional-level auditing experience is required.
Experience with GAGAS standards and data analytics is preferred.
Professional certifications such as CPA/CGAP/CIA/CRMA are encouraged.

Responsibilities

Conducting performance elated audits and evaluations of City and County departments, contracts, and programs that include internal controls, compliance, governance, and performance objectives.
Assisting the Audit Manager and Team Lead with all aspects of audits including planning, fieldwork, report writing and presenting results to the public.
Identifying and utilizing audit, analytical and research methodologies in audits.
Producing quality written products that explain complex issues for diverse audiences.
Working collaboratively in a team environment and performing audit follow-up work.
