Job summary

King County District Court seeks a proactive Human Resources Director to lead HR services, advise executives, and partner with judicial officers across the Court. You will oversee labor relations, contract administration, investigations, leaves, accommodations, and recruitment, reporting to the CAO and DCAO.

The role requires strategic partnership, policy development, staff coaching, and ensuring compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, and related regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources management, Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences or closely related field, or any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Senior Advisor to the Court’s Chief Presiding Judge, Executive Committee, CAO and DCAO.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team to improve delivery of HR functions using continuous improvement methods.
  • Lead negotiations for the Court’s working conditions contract and participate in wage contract bargaining.
  • Conduct or supervise employment investigations and respond to complaints from the EEOC, OCR, and Ombudsman's Office.
