Job summary

Weaver is seeking a Governance, Risk and Compliance Senior Manager for the Public Sector focusing on state government and higher education. The role leads internal audit, compliance, and advisory services for public sector clients in the Austin area and nationally, building relationships with executive management and boards.

The ideal candidate has extensive government-focused audit experience, strong communication, mentoring skills, and a proven ability to generate new business opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field
• CPA, CIA or other relevant certification
• 8+ years serving in a client service role, internal audit, compliance, or consulting
• Extensive internal audit or consulting experience with government agencies or entities
• Advanced understanding of governmental environments and compliance requirements
• Advanced ability to interpret statutes and regulations for federal, state, and local entities

Responsibilities

• Lead internal audit, compliance, and consulting engagements for public sector clients
• Develop and maintain client relationships and networks with executive management and audit committees
• Mentor and develop staff; lead training for technical and non-technical matters
• Support business development and expansion of services to existing clients
• Represent Weaver in local and national public sector markets; manage engagement economics
• Deliver high-quality audit reports to stakeholders with executive presence
