Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking a seasoned financial professional to assist in preparing the annual comprehensive financial report and related workpapers. You will coordinate with external auditors, interpret GASB pronouncements, and manage asset and lease accounting under GASB standards.

With a CPA, you will lead internal controls improvement and collaborate across departments to strengthen financial reporting and ensure accuracy and compliance for the City’s financial statements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Government Accounting and financial statement preparation.
• CPA certification or eligible designation.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing requirements.
• Experience with Workday Financials is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, review, and publication of the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and related workpapers.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely, accurate responses.
• Research GASB pronouncements and implement citywide readiness for adoption.
• Manage asset and lease accounting and reporting under GASB standards.
• Maintain internal controls and collaborate with departments to resolve issues.
