Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (in any major), meeting the eligibility requirements to take the CPA examination in Louisiana, OR CPA certification.
• Working knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial, operational, and/or compliance audits for a state entity.
• Assist in developing audit project programs and testing procedures.
• Prepare audit reports and follow up on corrective actions.
• Examine fiscal documents to verify information and assess internal controls.
• Analyze operations for efficiency and effectiveness relative to objectives.
• Identify noncompliance with laws, regulations, contracts, or agency policies.
• Perform special audits or investigations as needed.
• Apply sampling techniques and use data processing tools to assist audits.
• Document understanding of auditee internal controls and gather evidence.
