Job summary

The State of Idaho’s Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses is seeking a Financial Specialist to analyze and maintain financial data, develop documents, and ensure GAAP/GASB compliance while supporting internal controls and audits.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, reconciling deposits, and providing financial guidance to staff and program areas; prior gov accounting experience is preferred and Excel proficiency is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficient in Excel with several years of practical use.
• Experience with government accounting systems and reporting tools (Luma/Infor, Enterprise Reporting, Fast Enterprise).
• Governmental accounting experience with budgets, reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, research, and maintain financial data per GAAP and GASB.
• Provide professional advice on financial problems and solutions.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for the finance department.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Review, code, and process invoices; reconcile deposits; ensure policy compliance for P-Card and travel transactions.
• Maintain internal controls and support audit documentation.
• Provide financial guidance to staff and program areas.
• Execute other duties and special projects as assigned.
