Job summary

State of Idaho's Division of Statewide Accounting seeks a seasoned leader to oversee the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and related statutory reporting. You will guide the team in creating and reviewing financial statements, notes, and reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GASB standards.

The role requires strong supervision, collaboration with agency staff, and readiness for overtime during busy reporting periods.

Qualifications

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and governmental GAAP.
• Strong internal controls practices and procedures.
• Good understanding of auditing principles.
• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage and develop personnel.
• Familiarity with DSA financial systems (Closing Packages, Wdesk, Cognos, Luma).

Responsibilities

• Define the vision for Statewide Accounting and develop plans to achieve milestones.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency within the Division.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Provide training to agency and local government staff in governmental accounting.
• Prepare working papers, financial statements, notes, and year-end procedures.
• Enforce a uniform system of internal controls and promote best practices.
• Travel may be required; collaborate in-person with team to problem-solve.
