Job summary

Maricopa County Environmental Services Department seeks a seasoned finance professional to oversee the department's financial activities and budget management. You will provide oversight to ensure accurate reporting and fiscal control, aligning resources with the department's mission to protect residents.

The role requires four years of professional accounting/finance experience and a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional-level accounting and finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and monitors workload of finance staff; trains staff; evaluates performance.
• Monitors actual expenditures for divisions and prepares monthly/ quarterly budget summaries.
• Coordinates annual fixed asset inventory; oversees billings and complex financial analysis.
• Prepares management and financial reports; researches and presents accounting and budget information.
• Analyzes budget problems and develops methods to improve fiscal control; supports long-term planning.
