City of Longview is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to lead the Finance Division, coordinate close processes, and oversee budget development. The role requires CPA, government accounting experience, and strong leadership to train and guide a talented team.

The position reports to the Director of Finance, partners with city departments, and participates in audits and ERP administration. Salary ranges reflect qualifications and municipal scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Three years of experience managing accounting/financial operations.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Interested applicants with other applicable financial certifications are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GASB requirements, and computerized accounting systems.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Finance Division.
• Coordinate month- and year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors.
• Administer the Tyler Munis ERP system.
• Develop and monitor the budget.
• Serve in the Emergency Operations Center during City emergencies.
