Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in government accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting, grant accounting, and financial reporting in government.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the established state mandated accounting system for all County funds and ensure system integrity.
• Coordinate the annual County budget with input from departments and prepare final approved budget.
• Prepare yearly financial reports and coordinate with the County auditor; balance and post year-end adjustments.
• Oversee purchasing of supplies, equipment, and vehicles; manage accounts and grant financials.
• Establish internal controls to ensure secure transactions and meet Federal/State guidelines.
