Job summary

Public Consulting Group in San Diego County seeks a Child Care Specialist (CCS) to support CalWORKs and Stage 1 childcare programs. You will intake clients, explain provider options, and determine eligibility while maintaining compliant records and timely documentation.

The role requires AA degree, 4+ years in public service, and 2–4 years in case management; strong communication and data handling are essential. In-office, 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday with local travel as needed.

Qualifications

• An AA degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency; preferably in business, social work, public policy or related fields.
• A minimum of 4 year’s relevant work experience in the public sector or customer-centric service sector.
• 2 to 4 years of case management experience; experience with coaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Conduct group and one-on-one intakes with clients applying for Stage 1 subsidized childcare benefits.
• Assist clients with childcare applications and provide information about providers and resources.
• Determine clients’ eligibility for subsidized childcare benefits based on regulations and guidelines.
• Collect, analyze, verify, and process documentation timely per SOPs.
• Manage a caseload using State and County software systems and MS Access databases.
• Maintain client files and update documentation for compliance.
