Job summary

VDOT’s Internship Program offers paid summer work to undergraduate and graduate students, introducing them to public service while addressing the organization’s needs across business and functional areas.

As a student, you will participate in planned experiences that blend classroom knowledge with practical skills, performing duties and contributing to program analysis and reporting while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
• Clear written and oral communication with internal and external customers.
• Ability to interpret laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Access).
• Knowledge of business principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of office policies, procedures, and practices.
• Skill in collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports.

Responsibilities

• Engage in planned and education-related work experiences that integrate academic knowledge with practical application.
• Perform special duties as assigned.
• Provide administrative support services to assigned program areas.
• Research and compile data and prepare reports or presentations for various programs.
