Job summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a motivated student intern to gain hands-on experience by integrating classroom knowledge with practical work in our program offices. You will engage in planned work experiences and perform duties as assigned.

You will contribute to business management tasks, provide administrative support, research data, and prepare reports or presentations while prioritizing deadlines on special projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an Associate’s degree program or higher.
• Must be at least 18 years of age by start of employment.
• Must maintain a full-time student status taking 9+ credits per semester (graduate) or 12+ credits per semester (undergraduate) before and following internship.

Responsibilities

• Recommend resolution to administrative or business problems resulting in an effective program.
• Provide administrative support services to assigned program areas.
• Research and compile data and prepare reports or presentations for various programs or projects.
• Assume responsibility for special projects and assignments; prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
