Job summary

Brown & Brown seeks a Benefits Account Manager – Public Sector to join our growing team in Florida. You will manage a book of business focused on public sector clients with employee benefit programs and lead implementations, renewals, and Open Enrollment strategy.

The role requires deep benefits knowledge, regulatory compliance, and strong client relationships to coordinate with carriers and vendors for compliant, well-executed programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in employee benefits account management or related client-facing role.
• Active Life & Health Insurance license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Experience serving public sector clients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business with a focus on client retention and deepening relationships.
• Define overall implementation strategy, timelines, and success criteria with the client.
• Lead implementation kickoffs and key decision‑making conversations across client leadership and teams.
• Lead carrier and vendor relationship management ensuring service delivery and contractual obligations.
• Serve as the strategic point of coordination to align benefits solutions with client objectives.
• Develop and execute client wellness strategies in coordination with wellness partners.
• Anticipate client risks and adjust plans to maintain outcomes.
• Act as trusted advisor delivering clear guidance to the client.
• Resolve escalated issues affecting trust or timelines.
• Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and follow‑through.
