Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager (SN2) to lead multiple audit engagements from planning through to completion. You will supervise junior staff, manage client communications, and ensure timely, quality audit services.

The role requires ACA/CA/ACCA (or equivalent) and strong knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102, IFRS, and the Companies Act. You will work with a diverse client base, including local authorities, NHS bodies and government-aligned organisations, while developing

Qualifications

• ACA/CA/ACCA or equivalent.
• Experience in external audit, ideally with publicly funded bodies.
• Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Experience supervising and coaching audit trainees and seniors.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS, and the Companies Act.
• Strong client relationship skills and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficient in audit software and MS Office.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines and risk.

Responsibilities

• Audit Delivery – Manage audits for local government, NHS, and central bodies.
• Planning & Organisation – Develop audit strategies and scoping plans.
• Technical Application – Apply UK GAAP/IFRS/Companies Act to audits.
• Review & Reporting – Draft audit opinions and reporting packs.
• Team Support – Lead and supervise audit staff during fieldwork.
• Coaching & Development – Provide guidance and feedback to juniors.
• Quality & Compliance – Ensure files meet standards and risk controls.
• Client Relationships – Act as day-to-day client contact and build trust.
• Commercial Awareness – Monitor budgets and assist with billing.
• Collaboration – Work with other service lines and firm initiatives.
