Social Finance seeks an Associate, Public Sector, to join our team delivering data-driven advisory work for government and nonprofit partners. The role is based in one of our U.S.

offices (Boston, Washington, San Francisco, or Austin) and involves research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and cross-team collaboration. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with AI tools.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of full-time professional experience in research, consulting, finance, project management, social impact, or related fields.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; basic statistical knowledge is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to research, synthesize, and summarize unfamiliar topics quickly.
• Experience with AI tools or platforms in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, analyze data, and review evidence to support project design decisions and drive recommendations.
• Assist in project management tasks: scheduling, timelines, and team coordination.
• Create, deliver and present materials, analyses, and key findings for internal and external partners.
• Research potential project partners and assess performance to support design.
• Collaborate with evaluation firms to measure outcomes.
