Job summary

Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) is seeking an Actuary 2 or Actuary 3 to join the Rates, Forms, & Provider Networks Division (P&C Actuarial Services) at the Tumwater Office. The role focuses on evaluating complex rate filings, regulatory oversight, and actuarial analyses to support fair insurance regulations and consumer protection across Washington.

Qualifications

• Must meet current general U.S. Qualification Standards published by AAA.
• ACAS or FCAS credentials are required or strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Review and decide on complex P&C and Title rate filings for compliance and actuarial soundness.
• Conduct independent actuarial analyses of proposed rates, methodologies, and supporting data.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise actuarial staff; support regulatory policy and tools improvement.
