The Pima County Finance & Risk Management Department is seeking a skilled Accountant III to join the Financial Control & Reporting (FC&R) Division in Tucson. You will prepare interim and year-end financial reports, maintain general ledger, post journal entries, and ensure GAAP compliance for the County's financial statements.

This in-office position offers an alternative work schedule after probation and telecommuting up to two days per week.

Competenze

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or related field.
Two years of professional accounting or financial statement auditing experience.
Master’s degree or CPA designation may substitute for one year of required experience.

Mansioni

Prepare interim and year-end financial reports and note disclosures.
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and facilitate the month and year-end close.
Prepare and post journal entries; perform reconciliations; develop and analyze ad-hoc reports; support special projects.
Assess current practices and procedures and propose improvements, if needed.
Ensure proper accounting methods and policies, accuracy and compliance within the department and the County.
