Polk County Board of County Commissioners (Polk County BoCC) seeks an experienced accounting professional to coordinate fiscal management, accounting activities, and audits for the Fiscal Services division. You will support ledgers, budgetary controls, and grant budgeting while supervising staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires a degree in accounting with government accounting exposure and may involve emergency shelter duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and at least 1 year government accounting experience with supervisory duties.
• Alternatively, at least 5 years of government accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to secure a Florida driver's license at time of employment.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate fiscal management, accounting activities and auditing for Fiscal Services.
• Assist staff in preparing and maintaining ledgers and budgetary control accounts.
• Audit program finances for compliance with county, state and federal policies.
• Prepare adjustment journal entries and monthly financial statements.
• Supervise cash handling, receipts, and vouchers and oversee grant/budgetary controls.
