Job summary

The Accountant position in Bristol Township’s Finance Department performs professional government accounting, GAAP and GASB compliance, and financial reporting to support audits, budgets, and grants.

Under the Finance Officer, you prepare statements, journals, and schedules, maintain fund records, monitor revenues and expenditures, and respond to auditors and external partners. This role requires meticulous accounting discipline and integrity.

Qualifications

• Public sector accounting knowledge including GAAP and GASB.
• Ability to analyze transactions, financial data and prepare complex reports.
• Strong mathematical reasoning and budgeting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain governmental accounting records per GAAP and GASB.
• Produce financial statements, schedules, and supporting docs.
• Run monthly/year-end journal entries and closing activities.
• Assist with year-end reports and Comprehensive Audit.
• Maintain fund records and asset schedules.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures for proper classifications.
• Support audits with schedules and explanations.
• Respond to requests from departments, auditors, and partners.
