Yukon Public Schools is seeking a Payroll Specialist to maintain payroll processing workflows, benefits, and statutory compliance. You will collaborate with HR and the business office to ensure accurate payroll recording and timely reporting.

The role requires knowledge of payroll systems, data entry, and strong math skills, with 2+ years of payroll experience preferred. This is a full-time on-site position at the Yukon Administration Building.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred but not required.
• CPP certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain, is required.
• 2+ years of payroll and/or business office experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic office procedures, basic accounting, data entry, and common software (Word, Excel, payroll/human resources software).
• Strong math calculation skills related to finance and payroll (fractions, percents, ratios, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Process all payrolls and distribute payments for staff and substitutes accurately and timely.
• Verify OCAS coding for payroll expenditures as required by SDE.
• Handle time sheets and wage-hour processing; communicate discrepancies with HR leadership.
• Reconcile payroll withholdings and ensure timely payments to insurers and government agencies.
• Prepare payroll returns and reports for IRS, SSA, SDE, and other agencies.
