Job summary

The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) seeks a Program Administrator/Instructor to join the Leadership Development Institute at the Public Safety Education and Training Center in Sykesville, MD. This role provides strategic oversight, design, and delivery of high-impact training programs, including mandated leadership and basic instructor curricula.

The incumbent will administer, facilitate and instruct in-person classes, aligning COMAR standards with industry

Qualifications

Five years of experience as a public safety professional.
Education substitution options may apply for additional experience or graduate studies.
MPCTC Instructor Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

Curriculum innovation and teaching: develop and update lesson plans, materials, scenarios and assessments for leadership and public safety training; deliver in-person sessions.
Strategic oversight: manage training schedules, coordinate with external trainers, document participant progress and program effectiveness.
Regulatory compliance: ensure programs meet COMAR standards and industry requirements.
Mentorship and collaboration: provide instructional support across MPCTC units to foster statewide training consistency.
