Job summary

Virginia Tech in Blacksburg is seeking an Instructional Design Associate and Trainer to develop and deliver learner‑centric Public Safety training. You will work with stakeholders to ideate content, align with accessibility standards, and support campus safety education.

The role involves creating e-learning components, delivering in-person and hybrid programs, and continually improving training tracks for students, staff, and faculty, all while upholding VT brand guidelines and the Principles

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (IT, HR, education; training and development) or comparable experience.
Experience in instructional design and development of training content for diverse audiences and learning styles.
Experience managing learning management systems with reports and analytics for training value.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver high-quality instructional and outreach materials for Public Safety.
Create asynchronous and synchronous training content following VT brand and accessibility guidelines.
Collaborate with program managers and faculty to identify gaps and update training.
Deliver in-person and hybrid trainings as needed for program areas.
Research and integrate new technologies and methods into training programs.
