Job summary

State of Georgia seeks a Public Safety Trainer 3 (Fire & Emergency Services - Driver Operator) to instruct statewide Fire Apparatus Operator Courses and support public safety training programs. The role requires at least 3 years in a fire service with 1 year as an instructor, and the candidate must be able to work year-round in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and Georgia POST General Instructor certification.
• Eighteen (18) months of full-time instructor work-related experience in peace officer, correctional, fire service, EMS, or rescue topics.
• Eligible to obtain required Georgia POST specialty instructor certifications, Basic Law Enforcement certification, or POST certification as a peace officer.

Participates in needs assessment, research, design and evaluation of statewide public safety training programs. Demonstrates teamwork and a high degree of customer service. Instruct topics including Fire & Rescue and assigned specialized training. Long periods of standing, riding, driving, bending, and squatting required. Year-round training in all weather conditions.
