Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Manager, Public Safety/Security to oversee security operations across hospitals and Emergency Care Centers (ECC). You will direct security staff, ensure training, and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

The role emphasizes hazard analysis, budgeting, policy implementation, and collaboration with administration, medical staff and law enforcement to standardize procedures and align security efforts with system goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four additional years of security/military/law enforcement experience in lieu of degree.
• Three years of supervisory security/military/law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily security operations and staff across hospitals and ECCs.
• Ensure training, policy compliance, and budget adherence for the department.
• Conduct hazard and vulnerability analyses to identify security trends.
• Coordinate with hospital administration, medical staff, and external agencies.
