Job summary

Pima County is seeking a Radio Frequency Network Engineer to design, maintain, and support the countywide wireless network for public safety. You will ensure dispatch centers stay connected and towers run at peak capacity, performing preventative maintenance and hardware replacements as needed.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting network equipment, RF links, and encryption tools, as well as monitoring P25 networks and coordinating with field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, or a closely related field as determined by the department head at recruitment and three years of experience configuring, monitoring, and managing networking equipment.
• Four years of experience with Pima County as a Land Mobile Radio Systems Analyst I or II. Education/experience substantiation required in application.
• Experience with enterprise Motorola Radio Communications systems and maintaining radios for public safety agencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, reloads images, and repairs/replaces advanced network equipment including routers, switches and firewalls.
• Troubleshoots and repairs issues on a MPLS Microwave Network connecting PCWIN sites and dispatch centers.
• Manages tower site safety, equipment, and project progress; coordinates with crews and management.
