Job summary

Washington County is seeking a Public Safety Administrative Technician to provide complex clerical support for law enforcement records, warrants and civil processes. The role emphasizes accurate data handling, compliance with state statutes, and timely reporting to BCA, FBI and NIBRS.

Responsibilities include managing CJRS/NIBRS codes, maintaining digital evidence records, and responding to officials and the public while upholding data privacy and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires high-school diploma and 4 years in a criminal justice related clerical/administrative role.
• Or an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice with 2 years of related experience.
• Must obtain NIBRS, CJRS certification and Notary within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Function as entry point for inquiries to Special Services and Jail Administration Units.
• Provide data from law enforcement databases to authorized personnel per Data Practices Statutes.
• Input and verify data in state/federal databases (e.g., missing property, warrants, court records).
• Maintain advanced knowledge of records management systems and recommend improvements.
• Assist with training and general office duties as assigned.
