Job summary

The Saint Louis Zoo seeks a security professional to protect Zoo property, respond to emergencies, and enforce rules across the park. The role requires dealing with incidents, investigations, and safety-sensitive duties.

Candidates must be 21+, pass a physical and firearms training, and maintain a valid driver's license as well as firearm credentials. Uniforms are provided, with mandatory background and drug testing, and weekend/evening/holiday shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must pass a physical, drug test and firearms training.
• Must have valid driver’s license and own gun and leather.
• First Aid, CPR/AED experience required.
• Must be able to obtain an armed security license.
• Criminal background check and drug test required.
• Must work all shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Protect the Zoo property and respond to emergencies.
• Enforce Zoo rules and regulations; protect property from theft, embezzlement, fire and accidents; investigate and write reports on incidents.
• Provide as-needed assistance to visitors and employees.
