Job summary

Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, a leader in physical medicine and rehabilitation, seeks dedicated security personnel to patrol facilities, conduct investigations, and assist patients and visitors with directions and mobility as needed.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of safety procedures, be able to document incidents clearly, and provide excellent service in a diverse, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid State of Illinois driver’s license or commit to obtaining one within the first six months of employment.
• Covid vaccination is required.
• 2 years of experience in security or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas, searching for safety hazards, unauthorized persons, and other potential sources of harm to people or property.
• Conduct preliminary investigations on complaints, incidents and accidents, and prepare written reports.
• Provide directions and general information to patients, visitors and staff, including assisting patients in and out of vehicles and wheelchairs when necessary.
