Qualifications

• High school diploma required; three years’ experience in fire prevention, safety or security.
• Certification by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas diligently, checking for fire, prowlers, vandalism and other unusual activities, and rechecks problem locations.
• Documents and verbally reports discrepancies; responds promptly to emergencies; knows locations of call boxes and fire extinguishers.
• Monitors alarms and CCTV; operates two-way radio and follows Dispatcher directions.
• Detains suspicious persons, escorts individuals as needed, and tickets unauthorized vehicles in reserved areas.
• Courteously assists people seeking directions, information or assistance; coordinates with other officers as necessary.
