Job summary

Broughton Hospital is hiring Police Officers to protect clients, staff, visitors and property across the hospital grounds and affiliated state facilities. You will patrol premises, enforce motor vehicle laws, and investigate incidents while following proper procedures for evidence handling and reporting.

Applicants must meet NC certification timelines and complete required training, be at least 20 years old, and hold a valid NC driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must complete NC Probationary Law Enforcement Certification within one year.
• At least 20 years of age.
• Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Patrol all facilities to ensure safety of clients, staff, visitors, and property.
• Enforce motor vehicle laws, policies and procedures.
• Follow proper criminal procedures in investigations of all cases including motor vehicle accidents.
• Manage crime scenes and handle, document, and store evidence.
• Obtain criminal processes, search warrants; prepare incident reports and related forms.
• Appear in court and testify in criminal proceedings.
• Manage incidents using the Incident Command System; conduct searches for elopements.
• Respond to and control situations involving violent or disruptive behaviors.
