Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property.
• First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

Shift: Night shift, Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends; up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum Experience: Two years in general security, military, or other public safety experience preferred.
• Minimum Licensure/Certification: Valid driver's license and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Additional Qualifications:
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
• Ability to carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
