Protects staff, patients, and visitors from harm. Implements and monitors the security management plan. Addresses security issues concerning patients, visitors, personnel, and property. Investigates and reports on security incidents. Responds to emergency situations. Controls access to and egress from sensitive areas. Provides vehicle and pedestrian traffic control. Performs security patrols, and monitors a variety of technical systems including access control and CCTV. Demonstrates customer service excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of Armed Officer Psychological Evaluation (AOPE) administered by a Board-certified Police Psychologist.
• Favorable driving record and background check.
• Flexibility in work schedule, with the ability to work on other shifts when needed.
• IAHSS Certifications within the designated timeframe:
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) within 90 days from hire/promotion.
• Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) within 30 days of obtaining CHSO.
• State of Florida Security Officer Licensure within the designated timeframe:
• Class D - Security Officer Licensure within 6 months of hire/promotion.
• Class G - Armed Security Officer Licensure within 6 months of hire/promotion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Competency in use of computers.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior security and/or law enforcement experience.
• Ability to perform duties independently and with good judgment.
• Maintain a professional, confident demeanor in stressful situations.

Mandatory Education

High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate.
