Public Safety Officer II - Methodist Hospital

Overview

Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties owned, leased, or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations, and policies. Provides guidance to team members, guests, and patients. Assists in de-escalating tense, uncertain, and emotional situations. Investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Maintains records and logs, completes written reports, and performs physical security screening as required. Creates a safe healthcare environment for staff, patients, and guests. Performs other duties as assigned by the chain of command.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
• Must have at least two approved functional specialties (e.g., instructor, FTO).
• Current non-restricted Indiana Driver's License required.
• No convictions for felony, domestic violence, or violent misdemeanors.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological exam.
• Working knowledge of computers and software programs.
