Public Safety Officer - Full Time - St. Francis Hospital

Join our team as a Public Safety Officer - Full Time - St. Francis Hospital at Trinity Health.

Position Overview

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking an experienced Full-Time Public Safety Officer. The officer works with the Public Safety team to ensure the safety of staff, patients, visitors, and hospital property. Reporting to the Public Safety Supervisor, the officer provides high-quality service aligned with our core values. Overtime may be required during staff shortages or emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety and security of hospital premises, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with Public Safety Constables and Armed Public Safety Officers.
  • Respond to emergencies and manage aggressive or violent behavior.
  • Perform security patrols and monitor surveillance systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid motor vehicle license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to obtain Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) license within one year.
  • Maintain less lethal weapon certifications as per Delaware State Police standards.
  • CPR and AED certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience in law enforcement or security preferred; hospital security experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle crisis situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Obtain IAHSS Basic Training Certificate within 6 months and maintain it throughout employment.
