Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking an experienced Full Time Public Safety Officer to join our team!

Employment Type: Full Time

Shift: Rotating Shift

The Public Safety Officer is part of the front-line Public Safety Team. The role involves working with Public Safety Constables and Armed Public Safety Officers to ensure the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, and hospital property. The officer reports to the Public Safety Supervisor on duty and is responsible for providing high-quality service aligned with the core values of Saint Francis Hospital and Trinity Health. Overtime may be required during staff shortages or exigent situations. The officer must understand and perform all functions of a Public Safety Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid motor vehicle license with satisfactory driving record; ability to obtain Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) license within one year
  • Maintain less lethal weapon certifications as per Delaware State Police standards
  • CPR and AED certification within 6 months of employment
  • Experience in law enforcement/security or equivalent; hospital experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, crisis management abilities, and ability to handle aggressive or violent situations alone or in a team
  • Tactful interaction with colleagues, patients, and visitors
  • Obtain IAHSS Basic Training Certificate or higher within 6 months and maintain it during employment
