Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is hiring a full-time Security Officer for the Cecil Campus. Shifts include straight days or straight overnights with a two-week rotating schedule.

Responsibilities include patrolling grounds, protecting staff and patients, responding to alarms, and enforcing parking regulations. Requirements include HS Diploma or GED, Maryland Security Guard Certification within 90 days of hire, and preferred Associate degree in Criminal Justice.

We are currently recruiting for a full-timeSecurity Officerat our Cecil Campus location. The hours the successful candidate will work either straight days or straight overnights includingweekends/holidays as per a two week rotating schedule. The selected Officer will be responsible for patrolling our grounds in order to protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff, patients and others that visit. The Officer will also conduct investigations related to incidents that occur on our property and respond to alarms, security incidents and enforce parking regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

HS Diploma or GED equivalent. (Required)

Maryland Department of State Police, Licensing Division, Security Guard Certification required upon hire, or obtained within 90 days of hire. (Required)

Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related field (Preferred).

Two years of experience in campus/hospital security, law enforcement, or another related field (Preferred).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Acceptable drivers record in good standing.

Maryland Department of State Police, Licensing Division, Security Guard Certification required upon hire, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. (Required)

Responsibilities:

• Works closely with law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction


• Responsible to patrol campus facilities, providing visible security coverage during hours of operation


• Responds to calls for service for students, faculty, staff and visitors, as necessary


• Candidate will be responsible for incident/accident investigations and completing written reports in accordance with department policies


• Operates DELJIS, Report Executive Records Management System, Access Control Systems and other assigned technology

Hourly Pay Range: $18.55 - $26.90This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
