Position Summary

The Public Safety Officer (PSO) is responsible for providing support to Public Safety operations. Responsibilities include patrolling facilities and grounds, responding to emergencies, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, de-escalating situations, and performing weapon screening. The PSO may also secure property/evidence and liaise with law enforcement.

Position Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Certification in IAHSS Basic, Defensive Tactics for Security, CPR (BLS), and Marcus Crisis Prevention Program (MCPP) or ability to obtain within specified timeframes

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED/HSED)
• At least one year of security experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Effective communication skills for diverse interactions
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, hospital systems)
• Analytical skills for inspections and incident reporting
