Job summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a Security Officer for the Campus Safety and Security Department on the Technical Campus in Louisville. This is a 2nd shift position (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm), Monday through Friday, located on-site to ensure a safe campus environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

The role requires High School Diploma or GED and one year of security-related experience, with strong written and verbal communication and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military).
• Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.
• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols and complete incident, accident and injury reports to maintain campus safety.
• Assist with campus crisis situations, evacuations, drills, and monitor parking facilities; issue citations as needed.

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a candidate for a Security Officer in our fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Technical Campus at 727 W. Chestnut Street, Louisville KY 40202. This is a 2nd shift position (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm), Monday through Friday.

Job Duties

Candidates will be responsible for providing on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, completing incident, accident and injury reports as needed and providing other security services in order to maintain a safe, secure campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.

Other duties include but are not limited to:

• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military).
• Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.
• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred.
