Job summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking multiple candidates for Security Officer positions in our fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Downtown Campus. This is a 1st shift position (7:00 am – 3:00 pm), Monday through Friday.

Candidates will be responsible for providing on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, completing incident, accident and injury reports as needed and providing other security services in order to maintain a

• Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.
• Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-going visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, and complete incident, accident and injury reports to maintain a safe campus environment.
• Assist with campus crisis situations, evacuations, drills, and monitor parking facilities; issue citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Duties

• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military).

Strong written and verbal skills are necessary.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications is preferred.
