Job summary

The Milwaukee Public Museum is seeking one Public Safety Officer to join our Security Department on a full-time, rotating 40-hour schedule. The role mainly covers 1st shift, with 2nd/3rd shift coverage 3-5 days per month to maintain 24/7/365 staffing.

You will safeguard collections, monitor cameras, patrol the building, and report observations. Ideal candidates are service-oriented, calm under pressure, and able to write clear reports, work weekends/holidays, and communicate with diverse

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year security experience preferred.
• DAAT/de-escalation or self-defense training preferred.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience with access control systems (C-Cure or similar).

Responsibilities

• Safeguard museum collections and ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
• Patrol the building on foot and monitor 200 cameras from the dispatch office.
• Write clear, accurate reports and communicate via radio with departments.
• Provide flexible coverage including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job description

Milwaukee Public Museum is looking for one (1) Public Safety Officer to work a full time, rotating, 40-hour work week. In this role you will primarily be on 1st shift, and we estimate between 10-20%, or 3-5 days of the month, will be spent covering either 2nd or 3rd shift.
