Hartford HealthCare's Windham location seeks Public Safety Officers to serve as frontline guardians, delivering exceptional customer service while keeping environments safe for patients, visitors, colleagues and physicians.

Officers prevent hazards, respond to emergencies, and provide support and resources when incidents are managed, contributing to a secure and prepared healthcare community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience in public or patient-facing service.
• Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record.
• CT Guard Card or submission with expectation to receive CT Guard Card within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Job Summary

Public Safety Officers serve as front line guardians to the Hartford HealthCare Community by providing customer service and ensuring our environments are safe, secure, and more prepared for all of our patients, visitors, colleagues, clinicians, and physicians. Officers are equipped to prevent hazardous situations, respond and manage hazardous and emergency situations, and provide support and resources when situations are successfully managed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of relevant experience in service to the public or patients (public safety, corrections, first responder, military, mental health worker/technician or other similar healthcare patient-facing role)
• Related volunteer or degree programs may be substituted for experience based on hiring manager discretion
• Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record
• Valid CT Guard Card or documentation of submission of CT Guard Card application with expectation to receive CT Guard Card within 90 days of hire
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
