Reporting to the Director of Public Safety, the Public Safety Officer (PSO) is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of colleagues, patients, visitors, and their property at Goshen Health. The PSO also protects corporate assets across Goshen Health and its satellite locations. This is a 24/7 service role primarily covering the Goshen Hospital campus and surrounding facilities. The PSO coordinates with colleagues and management to deliver consistent public safety services in a courteous and professional manner, aligning with Goshen Health's mission and values.
The PSO patrols facilities, enforces hospital safety and security policies, monitors alarms and CCTV systems, and assists in emergency and non-emergency situations. The role requires compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Work conditions include outdoor environments with exposure to cold, rain, or heat, and extended shifts during emergencies. The PSO works in all hospital areas, including interstitial spaces, and responds promptly to emergencies and service calls, providing detailed reports to the Director of Public Safety.
