Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare, Inc. seeks a Security Officer for Piedmont Columbus Midtown. You will perform routine safety and emergency security duties to protect people and property, and respond as a first responder to emergencies within the facility.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, no experience required (2 years in security/public safety preferred), and must pass psychological screening. Valid driver license and various certifications are required, with POS T certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Work Experience: No experience required; 2 years in general security/public safety preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Driver license; IAHSS certification within 1 year; pass pre-employment psychological screening; training in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and other trainings as directed; POS T certification preferred.

• Serve as first responder to emergency incidents within the facility.
• De-escalate critical events safely and use sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating individuals.

Responsibilities

Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required

• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
